The Bidding Process
Invitation for Bid (IFB) and Request for Proposal (RFP) are formal solicitation methods for the acquisition of goods or services. Contracts and Procurement will advertise formal solicitations for goods or services greater than $50,000 in the California State Contracts Register (CSCR) and furnish bid documents upon written request from interested bidders.
The bid or proposal will indicate a specific date and time for the sealed bid responses to be publicly opened and read. Bids received after the closing date and time will be rejected. After the bid opening, Contracts and Procurement will begin the evaluation process to determine the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with the evaluation criteria listed in the bid or proposal.
